New episode of WaxWorks w/ Nyboe featuring Jesper Lemke

In this month’s episode of WaxWorks w/ Nyboe on Black Rhino Radio, Nyboe is joined by DJ, producer and cratedigger Jesper Lemke for a talk about his musical upbringing, making beats and digging for records across the world.

Tune in to hear how buying his first hip hop CDs in New York and discovering Wu-Tang Clan led him into Copenhagen’s record stores, while French house became another lasting influence. They talk about the connection between hip hop, house and disco, his early experiments with sample-based production and how living in London and Berlin helped shape his approach to music.

As co-founder of Super Bad Disco and a member of Berlin Zoo, Lemke is known for his work across the Danish beat and club scenes. The conversation also covers his collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan’s Inspectah Deck and record digging in places including Cuba, Burkina Faso and Iceland.

On Saturday, 7 November, Jesper plays one of his rare hip hop vinyl sets at DEEP CUTS at Meat City Music Club alongside Shatter Hands, DJ F1BI, Toxværd and Nyboe.
