The new British Music & Culture magazine Hookers & Gin's first issue has just been released. It's very limited - only 100 copies - and I have written an article about Danish rap in English called The Hidden History of Danish Hip Hop.
If you want to order one, you have to send a DM to the Instagram profile hookers_and_gin. The magazine cost £3.00 per issue plus postage (UK £2.50 / Europe £6.00 / Rest of the World £8.00)
The cratediggers and nerds will understand the reference in the name of the magazine... ;)
Here's the list of content for the magazine:
From Hip Hop to House, the influences and everything in between.
UK Electro - vintage piece plus modern retrospective.
Crates Is High - record store profile.
Digging talk with Pete Isaac (Jelly Jazz / 45 Live).
A look at François Parker's favourite remixes 1988–90.
Record related chat with Darrel (Funk Overlords / Second To None).
The Hidden History of Danish Hip Hop with Nyboe.
Steve Strange's clubbing guide - vintage piece.
James Hamilton and his BPMs - vintage piece.
Lords of Lounge - Vinyl Vulture.
Malcolm McLaren - vintage piece.
Charts New and Vintage.
K-Otix - vintage piece.
Acid Daze - vintage piece.
