Women On Wax

83 minutes of 34 dope hip hop track with female voices on vinyl for International Women's Day the 8th of March 2026.

About a month ago I talked to a few people about an idea a had about maybe doing a mix with only female rappers from my record collection - both because of how it fits sonically, but also to put some focus on the theme.

At the same time I really dislike the idea of putting women together in something just because they are women and also thought it might be a bit weird for me to be doing it rather than maybe a female DJ. But sometimes hearing men talk about how women can't rap or there are no good female rappers out there and being asked often for recommendations about female rappers - so much even that I made a public playlist with about 1.900 tracks on it so far.

But some people convinced me that it would be a dope idea and even doper to maybe be doing it for the International Women's Day - I did however not have time to do the mix until the night before Saturday when I just couldn't sleep and suddenly had the inspiration. So I managed to have it done in time and because it's March 8th, which is 8/3 in Denmark, I chose to make the mix 83 minutes.

I've used 34 tracks in total ranging about 20 BPM and going from the mid-90's to 2025 and even a few Danish and a German rapper.
