Episode 8 of WaxWorks with guest René Middelhede

In this months episode of WaxWorks, Nyboe has gone for a late-evening walk with his old DJ-partner René Middelhede to talk about their beginning 20 years ago.

There will be no music, this is all talk for this special. So tune in for an honest talk about the challenges of starting to DJ back then, studying legendary Danish DJ's for years from a distance, the culture hub and network found in record stores, spinning at hiphop jams and the state of hiphop at the time.

But also a talk about how curiosity can lead you on other paths and how we grew apart - mainly through our shift in music taste and cultures - and how René ended up studying at the music conservatory and living in Berlin making techno. And now is back full circle making hip hop beats again.

This is the third special in the 20th Anniversary series following the vinyl mixtape last month and the 2000's hip hop special the month before.
